“At a time when the U.S. government is

re-evaluating what constitutes harsh imprisonment techniques, it is high time for the US to provide basic visitation rights to five Cuban prisoners who have not been allowed contact with their immediate relatives. “

-City Council Member Rosie Mendez 2nd District

The Popular Education Project to Free the Cuban 5 is proud to announce City Council Member Rosie Mendez, of the 2nd District NYC, has joined her voice with the hundreds that have sent Ms. Navanetham Pillay, High Commissioner of Human Rights for the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights-UN Office at Geneva, a letter asking Ms. Pillay to request the US government grant Visas for the families of the Cuban 5.

The Popular Education Project to Free the Cuban 5 is asking people to follow her example and download and sign a letter to Ms. Pillay.  The US government's policy of separating families is wrong and tantamount to torture. It must end.
